General Information:
Student-Teacher Ratio 10:1: Our goal of high achievement for every student is directly linked to our ability to give each and every student the one-on-one attention he or she deserves in order to build deep and meaningful understanding. Our small class sizes enable our teachers to manage and track each student's progress and in-class performance. Teachers can adapt instruction to meet the needs of each student. |
Placement: All incoming students will be given an assessment. The assessment does not determine admission, but simply provides a general overview of the student's academic level and gives us a baseline to monitor future growth and progress. Students will be placed in classes with their peers according to age but will be working on class material at their academic level.
Curriculum: Home education is 100% directed by parents. Parents tell us what they want their children to learn and according to their academic goals and needs, an academic plan is put in place. All our curriculum resources are aligned with current standards and expectations. All lesson plans, class activities, and the order of lessons will be developed by the teachers. This enables each teacher to create customized, tailored classes based on the needs of the individual students in the class, while still maintaining a high standard of achievement. Classes may utilize manipulative, visual aids, hands-on projects, experiments, discoveries, group discussions, computer lab time, etc. in order to introduce and teach new concepts.

Homework: Lessons are to be completed during class time, exceptions may occur and will be at the discretion of each teacher.
Parent Involvement: Because we are a homeschool program (not a private school), Parents and family members will be an integral part of a student's success in our classes. Parents should become familiar with Google Classroom and check in frequently. Through Google Classroom you will be able to access grades, progress, assignment completion, class assignments, notes, make-up work, etc. Frequent communication with the teacher is encouraged. Volunteer opportunities will also be available for parents wishing to participate. |
Grading: Lesson plans will be provided, and it is up to the students and parents to keep up with the schedule. Students are encouraged to work ahead of pace whenever possible. All grade levels will be graded with a traditional percentage-based system.
